St. Mary's Glacier A-Frame

Archileaf was engaged by the owner/developer for a new A-frame cabin near St. Mary's Glacier in Colorado. The intent was a small scale, light footprint cabin for their family or visitors.

This a Frame maximizes the storage areas while maintaining a simple construction. The significant hillside presents an opportunity for a point floundations to limit the required earthwork. It also incorporates a lower patio area with hot tub. The rear of the house has floor to ceiling windows that look over a large pond and distant mountain valley.
